Days of Romanesque Art (“Journées romanes”)

The week-long programme Days of Romanesque Art takes place every year during the second week of July at Saint-Michel de Cuxa. It is open to all. The programme alternates conference days at the Abbey led by specialists with visits to the main Romanesque monuments in Roussillon and the surrounding areas of Catalonia and the Languedoc. These days are organized around a central theme, the exploration of the connections between the arts and society in the Romanesque era (from 10th to 13th century).

The programme is prepared under the aegis of an international scientific committee. The conferences are published in Les Cahiers de Saint-Michel de Cuxa.

The Days of Romanesque Art are open to all. For those who want to take part in all the activities, a complete package is available, including conferences, visits, journeys, board and lodging. Reduced prices for students. You can also attend one or more conferences or a visit individually.
